This video walks you through the basic eligibility requirements for applying and receiving Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF). The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your federal student loan(s) if you meet the congressionally mandated requirements.

Four Things You Need Know about Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF):
1. You must work full-time for a qualified employer.
2. Only non-defaulted federal Direct Loans qualify for PSLF.
3. To qualify for PSLF, repay your loans on an income-driven repayment plan.
4. To receive PSLF, you must make 120 qualifying payments.

TIP: It is strongly recommended that you submit an Employment Certification Form (ECF) each year to track your progress and avoid any surprises when you apply for PSLF. Visit our PSLF Help Tool to fill out your ECF now: https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/pslfFlow.action#!/pslf/launch
